Art & Design Studio of Rockland

General Art Classes Include:

With guidance from the instructor, students can select the subject and medium
of their choice for each of their projects. We teach a variety of fine art styles -
from Photo Realism to Impressionism and subject matter, such as portraiture, landscape, figures, wildlife, still life, superheros, and cartoon characters to
name a few. Oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, pen & ink, animation cels, scratchboard, colored pencils, and opaque inks are the more popular mediums
we teach. High school students create artwork for their college entrance portfolios.

Graphic design and computer art are part of our general art classes. Students
can work on projects, such as logo design, advertisements, illustration, CD
covers, posters, book covers and packaging. Students will be taught how
to create fine art, illustrations, cartoons and superheros using the most
amazing computer software. Students' computer projects are printed with
our photo quality, full color printer. These beautiful prints make an impressive addition to the college entrance portfolio.

Clay sculpture is part of our general art classes. Students are instructed in
the basic techniques of making clay sculpture both in the round and in relief.
They learn how to work with clay tools and their hands to create their projects.

Computer graphics classes are for individuals interested in learning the latest
tools and techniques for creating business graphics on the computer. It is the
ideal course for students thinking of pursuing a career in graphic design,
advertising, marketing or publishing. Our instructors are professional computer graphic designers who understand the needs and concerns of individuals who
must learn computer skills to increase their job performance. We have both
integrated and specific software courses.

Fashion design classes teach students how to illustrate the fashion figure,
including body proportions, hands, feet, faces, and hair. Our instructors
show students how to achieve a fabric look in various mediums, and guide
them in creating their own fashion collection. Sewing basics and clothing construction utilizing both hand and machine applications are taught.

In adult art classes, students are taught on an individual basis. Students can
study the subjects of their choice in mediums, such as watercolors, acrylics,
oils, pastels, clay, pencil drawing and pen & ink. They can select a different
medium for each project and work at their own pace and level. You can enroll
at any time.
